The school offers a rigorous academic program for all students from years 7-12, with a particular focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Years 10-12. The outstanding facilities include well-equipped classrooms with the latest technology, an English Language Centre, a new modern Science Discovery Centre, a VCE study centre, a lecture theatre, a drama studio, two indoor gymnasiums, Art and Design Centre, specialist laboratories and extensive playing fields. Our international students are from all over the world including China, Vietnam, Cambodia, the USA, Mexico, Malaysia, France, Korea, Germany and India.
Our teaching staff is committed to delivering our vision and building the best possible school. We have created programs that are innovative, engaging and that challenge each student in their learning so that they can work to the best of their ability. Our approach is rich in the use of technology and all students have 1:1 access to netbooks, iPads and desktop computers to support their learning.
Local Environment
Auburn High School is located 6km from Melbourne’s CBD, in the leafy inner-eastern suburb of Hawthorn East. Hawthorn East’s local government area is in the City of Boroondara. At the 2016 Census, Hawthorn East had a population of 14,321.
The school is well serviced by public transport with train, tram and bus connections, many
students also cycle to school via the dedicated bicycle path through the abundant local parklands. Fritsch Holzer Park is a large open space, popular for recreational activities. Anderson Park is another significant park in the area and offers panoramic views of the Melbourne CBD.
