State Schools Relief (SSR)
Schools are able to submit an application for shoes, shorts/pants, Dobsons uniform vouchers, and Travel Money Passes, and senior school calculators on behalf of families who are experiencing financial or situational disadvantage.
Situations include, but are not limited to:
- Unemployment
- Health issues/illness
- Financial difficulties
- Independent living and/or homelessness
- Natural disasters, house fires
- Bereavement
- Domestic violence

Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF)
DET funded program provides a yearly payment of $225 for eligible students to attend school camps, excursions, and sports and outdoor education programs. You can see a full list of eligible means-tested concession cards here: https://www.vic.gov.au/camps-sports-and-excursions-fund
Year 7 CSEF/SSR Uniform Package Form
Every year SSR and CSEF combine forces to ensure that all families who are applying for CSEF as their young person transitions to high school also receive additional support to purchase uniform. The uniform package includes a pair of shoes, a pair of pants or shorts and a $80 voucher that can be redeemed at Dobsons
Hawthorn Community Chest Education Grant
Hawthorn Community Chest’s (HCC) Education Program provides a Grant for the educational needs of secondary school children in Boroondara, who are facing financial difficulty. It covers up to $1,500 of education-specific costs for each child over the course of the school year.

Education CHANCES Foundation
The Education CHANCES Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students who live or study in Boroondara and whose families are experiencing financial hardship. Students are identified as eligible scholars based on their attendance, engagement in education or a specific passion, and their access to means-tested concessions cards. Transition scholarships are also available to students starting year 7 and are selected in partnership with the young person’s primary school. TAC L2P Program
A community-based program developed to assist eligible young Victorian learner drivers. Young people between the ages of 16 and 21 years who don’t have access to a supervising driver or a vehicle can gain the driving experience required for a probationary licence. The TAC L2P Program is funded by the TAC, administered by the Department of Transport and Planning, and coordinated by the City of Boroondara.
